CALGARY, Alberta, Canada (Marketwire – January 30, 2013) – New Millennium Iron Corp. (“NML” or the “Corporation”) (TSX: NML) announced today that Tata Steel Minerals Canada Ltd.’s (“TSMC”) application to mine direct shipping iron ore (“DSO”) on the Goodwood and Sunny 1 properties, in Nunavik, has been approved by the Government of Quebec, pursuant to a decision of the Kativik Environmental Quality Commission. The Certificate of Authorization dated January 11, 2013, stipulates that TSMC, the company that operates the NML and Tata Steel joint venture for the DSO Project, must start work within three years from the date of release.

Dean Journeaux, President and Chief Executive Officer of NML said: “We are pleased that TSMC now has this important Authorization for Goodwood and Sunny 1 (Project 2A), as it completes the Certificates of Authorization required for the first ten years of mining for the DSO Project in Quebec. TSMC has already obtained the environmental releases and permits for its properties in Newfoundland and Labrador.”
