DSO PROJECT SHIPPING UPDATE
Shipping of sinter fines from the DSO Project's seasonal crushed and screened ore operation began in June. Through July, four cargoes totaling approximately 685,000 tonnes had been shipped through Iron Ore Company of Canada's terminal at Sept-Îles, Québec, to both Tata Steel Europe and customers in China. A regular pattern of shipments is now being established.
Together with Tata Steel, NML is active through the DSO Project now producing and shipping sinter fines, and on the advanced study of development of the LabMag and KéMag deposits, collectively known as the Taconite Project, which offers the potential for a new and modern, Canadian source of high quality pellets and pellet feed for steelmakers globally with blast furnace or direct reduced iron operations.
